We are now fully fledged members of CWE (Cumbria Women in Enterprise) Yay!! But our initiation ritual meant us getting rather intimate….
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but we got our out!!
Well one of the Blondes did, we will let you guess which one….
They were then painted by Jelli Nelli, photographed by Tracey at Picture U, edited and sent to Helen McKenzie at Candy Design & Print, and eventually Dene at H&H Reeds Printers was allowed to see them.
And now you can see them too, don’t worry…. it’s quite alright, 11 of us ladies at CWE bared our bosoms for a charity calendar. It was very tastefully done, you wouldn’t expect anything else from us – would you! The idea isn’t original and it’s not quite like calendar girls, there’s a web site – www.happybaps.com – where they post photos of painted breasts to raise awareness about breast cancer and when Jelli Nelli (aka Helen) suggested this to the group, quite surprisingly a lot of hands went up. As we are quite reserved (stop the laughing) our hands were not one of them, but a little hiccup with the numbers left one of us Blondes with an opportunity we couldn’t really turn down. Doing it for the girls!
We won’t say who else is in the calendar or which month we all are but we will say that all the business women involved are listed in the front of the calendar in their business name (tease I know). They include: Nortech, Paramount Legal Costs, Maisielu, Inspired by Life, Magical Mel, Phoenix Trading, May Fifteen, Picture U, Bespoke Crystal Creations and Candy Design & Print.
We’ve already been on BBC Radio and featured in the local news.
If you would like to learn about business related information, boost your self confidence, make new friends and more join CWE Networking Group every first Tuesday of the month at the Skinny Gorilla in Carlisle (one of our favourite haunts) or Penrith on the second Thursday, both between 7pm – 9pm. First things first we hit the bar… and then have a natter and eventually get round to business! There is an opportunity o give a 1 min presentation each, there’s no pressure though you don’t have to. We usually have a guest speaker and prizes too… and the initiation ritual was a wee joke, to become a member all you need to do is attend three meetings in a row and then you get your nice sparkly badge.
We also have a Christmas Party soon…. the CWE Christmas Carry On.. 13th December at the Crown & Mitre 7pm. £15 inc food and games, it’ll be a good night and we are not volunteering for anything!! You, however, are more than welcome to
Oh you may be wondering why only 11 people were painted and photographed? The main lady in the calendar is Miss December, the 12th lady. This calendar is for her and the 48,000 other ladies in the UK who are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The nominated charity is the Pink Ribbon Foundation. Please support this great cause.
TTFN – until next time xx
